About

We didn't invent slow eating. We just made it impossible to ignore.

Slowly Eating exists because the most powerful health intervention in the world was hiding in plain sight — and nobody was talking about it.

29

chews per bite

Our Origin

How it started.

It started with a single meal. Not a revelation, not a diet book — just a quiet experiment: what if I chewed every bite 29 times?

The results were immediate and strange. Less bloating. Less hunger an hour later. A meal that actually felt satisfying. And a creeping suspicion that something this simple shouldn't work this well.

We spent months reading the research. The studies were there — peer-reviewed, replicated, largely ignored. Chewing rate, bite size, and eating speed are among the most consistent predictors of caloric intake and digestive health. And yet no one had built a community around it.

So we did.

What We Believe

What we believe.

Simple principles. Profound results.

Simplicity is not a compromise

The most effective interventions are often the simplest. Two rules. No exceptions. No upgrades required.

The body already knows

Hunger, fullness, satisfaction — these signals exist. Slow eating doesn't override them. It finally lets you hear them.

Community over competition

This isn't about being the best slow eater. It's about showing up, logging a meal, and knowing someone else is doing the same thing across the city.

Progress over perfection

Some days you'll count every chew. Some days you'll forget by bite two. Both days count.

Our Philosophy

Why 29 Chews Changes Everything

At 29 chews, solid food reaches a consistency that allows digestive enzymes to work efficiently. Satiety hormones have time to signal the brain. The parasympathetic nervous system — your rest-and-digest mode — has a chance to activate. It's not magic. It's physiology.
